Nothing happens when I press ⇧⌘9.
Open the Screen2Shot menu in the menu bar. If it says the shortcut is taken, another app owns ⇧⌘9. Change that app's shortcut, pick another preset in Screen2Shot, or use Capture Area from the menu.
macOS asks for Screen Recording access.
Screen2Shot needs it to see what is on your screen when you press the shortcut. Turn it on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then choose Quit & Reopen in the Screen2Shot menu.
I can't see the menu-bar icon.
macOS hides icons when the menu bar is full. Screen2Shot then shows itself in the Dock and explains how to make room; the shortcuts keep working.
How do I change the shortcut?
Screen2Shot menu → Shortcut: pick ⇧⌘9, ⌃⇧9, ⌃⇧S or ⇧⌘2, or choose Customize… and press any combination with ⌘, ⌃ or ⌥.
How do I record the screen?
Press ⌥⇧⌘9 or choose Record Screen; Record Area… records a rectangle you drag. Stop from the red dot in the menu bar or press ⌥⇧⌘9 again. Recording needs macOS 15 or later.
How do I restore PRO on a new Mac?
Mac App Store: choose Restore Purchases in the PRO window or in Settings → General. Direct download: choose Restore and enter the email you paid with; we send a 6-digit code.
How do I cancel PRO Monthly?
Mac App Store: App Store → your account → Subscriptions. Direct download: Settings → General → Manage Subscription.
How do I turn off usage data and crash reports?
Screen2Shot menu → untick Share Anonymous Usage Data. Nothing more is sent, and unsent events are deleted.
